A Beverage Plant in Laguna has been having problems with surprise shutdown due to bearing failure, High production and maintenance costs, Risk to Safety and Health, loss of production, and frequent bearing replacement every 3 months. This is caused by manual lubrication, lack of grease, and difficult access to hazardous lubrication points.

Any type of bearing, chain, open gear, guide rail, spindle, and many other items can be lubricated using Simalube single-point lubricators. Simalube single-point lubricators are appropriate for any single-point lubricating activity with grease or oil and come in five different sizes. They can be utilized with a wide range of various greases and oils in countless applications.

Roller bearings that are improperly or insufficiently greased lose their durability far sooner than they should. Single point lubricators ensure a constant flow of lubricant in an amount that is predetermined and pre-adjusted. Single points save shutdown times and do away with expensive and error-prone manual lubrication.

To counter the issues the plant has been facing, LPI installed a - Installation of 125 ml. Single point lubricator to their conveyor center bearings package with system plast flange bearings and set for 8 months to be consumed. The Single Point Lubricator ensures the right lubricant and the right amount is given to the bearings all the time, resulting in up to 60 - 80% less wasted grease lubricants. For the plant personnel, a matured maintenance program has been developed, and training was provided to further hone their skills.

The plant is reported to have a - 50% reduction in lubricant consumption and 90% reduction in manual lubrication costs. A low percentage of bearing wear pattern temperature within normal range. Longer Bearing life and production efficiency has been reported after LPI’s Maintenance program. All the safety issues were properly addressed by LPI’s maintenance service.
